A PROPOS

ABOUT

I had the opportunity of studying in both France and Canada where I could achieve some strong knowledge from a European analytical approach as well as from a Nord American pragmatic approach.
My work experience in those 2 cultures in a private practice as well as in hospitals, schools and day cares, institutions, retirement homes and at my clients' homes since the past 15 years has sharpen my eye on my profession and the care given to patients from 0 to 95 years old.
I trained parents and caregivers in Montreal Rehabilitation Center, in schools and day cares « how to help my child to communicate better », « how to deal with behaviours ». I also enjoyed teaching and sharing my knowledge and work experiment at my private office in Paris to many students in speech and language pathology from France and Belgian.
I keep training myself in order to be always update on new therapies in speech language pathology and to offer the most adapted care according to the patients’ needs and to accompany them the best as possible in their rehabilitation.
I was a member of the “Ordre des orthophonistes et audiologistes du Quebec (OOAQ)”.  I am currently a member of the “Fédération Nationale des Orthophonistes (FNO)” and the Aloisius network (Memory disorders) since 2009.
Actually living in Europe between Paris, Bruxelles and Vienna with my Austrian-French family, I keep working as a speech language pathologist on line.

WHAT IS SPEECH

AND LANGUAGE THERAPY?

The components of speech production include: phonation, producing sound; resonance; intonation, variance of pitch; and voice, including aeromechanical components of respiration.
The components of language include: phonology, manipulating sound according to the rules of a language; morphology, understanding and using minimal units of meaning; syntax, constructing sentences by using languages; grammar rules; semantics, interpreting signs or symbols of communication to construct meaning; and pragmatics, social aspects of communication.
Speech and language therapy is concerned with the management of disorders of speech, language, and communication and swallowing in children and adults.

I provide a wide range of services, mainly on an individual basis, but also as support for individuals, families, support groups, and providing information for the general public.
Speech services begin with initial screening for communication disorders and continue with assessment and diagnosis, consultation for the provision of advice regarding management, intervention and treatment, and provision counselling.
I choose the techniques that seem the most appropriate according to the difficulties of my clients but also according to their taste and interests. It is very important to me that my clients learn and train with fun.
